Current Issues Obama is well loved by those under thirty, the people of Europe (a bad sign), and by the Muslim world. The young crowd are not looking for age and wisdom, experience and thoughtfulness. They simply want change for change sake! And more than likely they are going to get from the Lord what they want! Whether global warming is man made or not is irrelevant. God is in charge of the final days of world history, and He is in charge of all that happens in His world. Harvard actually died long ago but they put the grave stone over the school recently with the takeover of Muslims on campus. For the last several months a Muslim muezzin gave a call to prayer on the Harvard Yard.
America has lost its way! It is repudiating its own laws, and thumbing its nose at the founding principles of from our European culture and our Reformation heritage. But there is no turning back. Yet Christians need to know what is coming at us with our internal moral, cultural, and spiritual failures. After the elections in November some Democratic members of Congress want to pass a bill that on Christian radio and television there can be no negative statement against homosexuality or a negative statement against another religion, such as Islam! If it happens in California, in time, it will come to your state! California has a new law signed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, SB 777. It is called the California Student Civil Rights Act that requires nondiscrimination against sexual orientation. Norris is quoted recently in the March 3, 2008 Washington Times as saying: Once upon a time, churches served as moral centers of a community. Of course, not any longer. Values, mores, biblical discernment, are all shifting to the left. It is affecting our general population and our churches. And, it is moving far more quickly than I could have ever imagined! A well-known big Bible teacher, who heads up a school in California, takes Dr. Lewis S. Chafer to task because he quotes the apostle Paul from 1 Corinthians 2:14-3:3 when he writes that there are three types of people in the world. Chafer simply quotes Paul when he says the lost person is characterized as a "natural man" (psuchikos, soulish) (2:14). Someone handed me a devotional lesson from a tabletalk-like publication. I gagged and got sick because of the terrible theology that this little publication put forth. For example: The Coming World Economic Collaspse Almost all economists know that the world cannot go on as it is economically. But specifically, what about America, much less the entire world? What is building up monetarily in the U.S. cannot sustain indefinitely and go on forever. But the average citizen does not see what is coming over the horizon upon this nation. There is much to do about Mitt Romney and the presidential elections coming up next year. I personally do not believe as a Mormon he would subvert the government of the U.S. but I have problems with the insights of one who would lead this nation and who holds to Mormonism. One point of interest, there are three Romneys who played a key part in the early development of that religion: Miles Romney (born in 1843), Miles Park Romney, and Marion George Romney. Their names and influence are all documented ... Pastors of churches, evangelical congregations, will someday have to repent and confess how they absorbed the ways of the culture and dragged such practices into their assemblies. In so many churches today there is (1) secular psychological teaching, (2) music that is Hollywood oriented, (3) compromise in order to please a younger crowd. Their excuse is "Well, we have to do something to get the crowd into our church!" Such leaders are egotists, self-centered with humanistic ambition, proud, resting on their supposed talents of making people laugh, entertainers. To them, large crowds are a sign of spiritual success! But there will be a price to pay. Such men are cultural bound and performing to the drumbeat of the world rather than the authority of the Scriptures. Christian radio personality Hank Hanegraaff has come out with a new book entitled: The Apocalypse Code (Thomas Nelson, 2007). In it he takes to task Dispensationalism and Premillennialism. It is always best to answer error with the Bible.The Word of God can expose false doctrine and state the truth better than we can. And no other passage of Scripture is so definitive in regard to God's restoration of Israel than Romans 9-11. This article answers Christian radio personality Hank Hanegraaff. Is it time for a re-statement of biblical doctrine for this generation? I am not referring simply to additional volumes addressing theology, but I am suggesting the need for a higher degree of militancy and relevance in what we are saying both to believers in Christ and to the culture. Many people ask, “Where was God when thirty-two students and faculty died at the hands of a mad gunman?” This is a natural question and one that both unbelievers and believers may ask. It seems sometimes that God is asleep and that He is passive when such tragedies happen. But the child of God knows that God is not impotent and helpless, and that indeed He does have a plan. The Unbiblical Nature of Catholic Dogma Catholics argue that their doctrines are misquoted and misunderstood by Protestant opponents. When confronted with some of these facts, Catholics often react emotionally with, “Oh, that’s not what the Church teaches!” Or, “The Church doesn’t believe that anymore!” But the truth is, the teachings of Catholicism have not changed. Unfortunately, most Catholics do not receive a systematic understanding of their own faith. Because many Have been influenced by their Christian neighbors and friends, American Catholics have on their own, softened some of their own views. But of course, not all have. No one can deny we're in a terrible spiritual conflict. Though that struggle began with the Fall of Adam, the intensity in some ways seems to be escalating. What is also disturbing is that so many believers m Christ are unaware of the issues we face. A friend recently asked a charismatic co-worker what he thought of the doctrine of the apostasy. The man looked totally puzzled and asked, "what is this thing called apostasy? And what does it mean?"
It’s Easter again. Colored eggs. Baskets of grass. Cute bunnies. New clothes. Lilies. But what does all of this have to do with the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead?
Actually nothing, except there is a faint connection with the idea of new life and His coming forth from the grave. However the problem is that we see too much that is raw paganism at this time of year. A second problem is that the world sees the bunnies but misses the doctrinal truth that Christ’s resurrection proves that God is through with our sins. They were nailed to the cross and purged by the sacrifice of Jesus.
The Death of American and The West Few people in America fully get it! Most do not see the ominous events now taking place in the Middle East and Europe. We are within a few years of an international catastrophe or the beginning of World War III. For example in Europe there are now fifty million Muslims. This number will double in 25 years. And by 2025, one third of all European children will be born to Muslim families. Europe is gone! And the European Reformation heritage has long ago been buried! The Middle East is on a slow fuse. Iran has made a vow to build nuclear weapons. There is no way of escaping what is happening there!
The reason you are now hearing so many flaps against God's sovereignty and His divine absolute election is because of the ignorance of so-called Bible teachers who really do not know the Scriptures, and certainly seem to know nothing about church history.
We are in a crisis today in that believers are having more and more trouble finding God’s will. Granted this is difficult but Christians today want quick fixes and definite answers. Lewis S. Chafer in his book He That Is Spiritual has some excellent advice about the Christian walk, and even about how God corrects our stupidities.
